New podcast: Dark Cloud
“The Dark Genie’s power surges—stand or be erased.”
In 2000, Sony needed an RPG for its new powerhouse console, the PlayStation 2. Perhaps surprisingly, it chose to partner up with newly formed studio Level-5 who would go on to create an action RPG inspired by The Legend of Zelda series. The first in a rich tapestry of games that have come out of Level-5, Dark Cloud remains a slightly odd beast.
Chris Worthington, Brian and Chris O'Regan unpack it all here.
Available now for free from all the podcast ploppers.

New podcast: Sin and Punshment (early access)
Whether you consider it to be an on-rails shooter or a 3D run and gun with auto-scrolling, few would argue against Sin and Punishment being a sometimes overlooked but glinting gem in the N64's library.
Leon, Chris Worthington, Michiel, Ryan and guest S&P superfan Mark MSX of The Electric Underground dissect Treasure's year 2000 blast in the usual Cane and Rinse fashion, along with correspondence from the listeners and community.

“There are as many legends in the world that deserve retelling as there are stars in the night sky.”
Literally one person requested this podcast, so here it is. How’s that for service?

Leon, Brian, Leah and Ryan – along with contributors from the community – ask just why this prequel was eradicated from the canon, never to be restored.
