“Cut off their limbs.”
Perhaps not the most pressing candidate for the remake treatment, nevertheless, EA Motive found itself remaking 2008’s sci-fi horror shooter Dead Space for ‘current gen’ in 2023. Leon and Jon – along with contributors for the Cane and Rinse community – consider the changes and differences from the original to the all-singing, all-dancing update. Was the whole project worthwhile? Listen in and find out what we think.
Please note that, due to events beyond our control, we lost an audio track from this recording which meant it was edited as a two-person show rather than its original three-person line-up, which resulted in the shorter run time.

Re: How Microsoft are able to work out if any particular game drew someone towards a Game Pass subscription. They know exactly what you play, when you play it, how long you play it for, and what you do within each game. In the case of working out WHY you’re using Game Pass, I think they simply take a snapshot of the GP games you play within any given month, and the hours spent on them, to work out some kind of dollar per hour per game value for your account.
So if the only two GP games you played that month were 30 hours on Dead Space and 30 hours on Forza Horizon 5 with a $20 subscription then you “spent” $10 on each. Exactly what drew you to Game Pass is irrelevant. It’s possible you signed up to play through the Halo collection and were sidetracked by DS and Forza — but intention doesn’t create a meaningful data point, only what you play, and the hours played/month on GP titles speak for themselves.
