Cane and Rinse celebrates the 40th (fortieth!) anniversary of one of the most important and influential videogames of all time, Space Invaders. Leon, Karl, Michiel and returning guest Dan Clark try to decipher just what it was about Tomohiro Nishikado’s menacingly inexorable cosmic crustaceans that captured international imaginations and left its indelible imprint on the industry. We also share memories from the community as well as a run-down of the many versions, conversions, spin-offs and sequels released over the years.
Music used in this issue:
1: Neon by Jill Stark
2: Disco Space Invaders by Funny Stuff
