In recognition of its 20th birthday, we recall the life, library and legacy of Nintendo’s noisy baby, the GameCube. Leon, Brian, Darren, Michiel and community correspondents thumb giant green buttons, pop toilet lids and clasp pencil microphones in honour of the little purple (other colours also available) box of delights.

What a nostalgic celebration of one of Nintendo’s most underrated consoles! The GameCube may have been small, but its library was mighty—Metroid Prime, Wind Waker, Resident Evil 4—so many gems. Loved the reflections and community contributions, especially the image of clasping pencil microphones and popping those iconic “toilet lids”! Here’s to 20 years of “Born to Play” magic. ??
