Fire Emblem Awakening – Cane and Rinse No.139

“Mya ha! They’ll remember ME once I drive my axe into their… Wait… my axe! Where’s my axe?!”

Nintendo‘s near-quarter-of-a-century-old tactical, turn-based fantasy battle RPG Fire Emblem is the subject of this issue of the podcast, and specifically the series’  most recent entry, 2012/2013’s Fire Emblem Awakening for 3DS (and 2DS). Leon, Darren, Josh and guest Simon Cole (@TheSonicMole) learn of the joys and pains of character ‘perma-death’, as well as celebrating Intelligent Systems’ astounding consistency, and bemoaning the price of the GameCube instalment on eBay.

  1. Actually Streetpass matched with what might’ve been you guys a while back! Saw a team with levels as expected from late to endgame Normal mode (but not post game or DLC stuff) with an avatar called Ratso who had white hair and who had all his text for battle, recruitment, bio, etc. was “caneandrinse.com”. It’s what caused me to find this site actually when I was going back through my 3DS games and noticed that unit in my Fire Emblem log book (after I accidently used the boots on him forcing him to be a mainstay in my party lol). I’ll have a look round, see if there’s anything to catch my fancy here and stuff, but would like to know if that was just a fan who ended up advertising you in a pretty unique way or if you did Streetpass match me way back when.

  2. That would have been me, yes!
